A Chicago Illinois man, Jason Karels is accused of drowning his three children, Bryant, 5, Cassidy, 3, and 2-year-old Gideon during a custodial visit on Monday, June 13.
Approximately at 1 p.m., the Round Lake Beach Police responded to a welfare check call, but upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of Karels’ children.
Jason Karels fled the scene, but the police later caught up with him after they were lead on a high speed chase for roughly 17 minutes which ended up with Karels crashing his car. Karels was then transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries and moved to Lake County Jail the following day.
Once the police officers had Karels in custody, he told the officers that he attempted to commit suicide several times, but failed. The autopsy confirmed that the children died from drowning. Karels has been charged with 3 counts of murder and held on a 10 million dollars bond.
I guess you now know what a horrible and painful experience you put your children through. I don’t know why the heck some parents still get to have access to these poor innocent children when all the warning signs are clear to see.
