My Fiancé And My Neighbor’s Daughter – Chapter 3

A story of love, lies, deceit, and betrayal.

I asked David if we were going to live together because we lived together in his other house and he didn’t sell the house or anything of that nature; so I thought to myself, is he going to sell the other house so both of us live here? Well, that answer was obviously a no. I mean the house belonged to him and all I had there was clothes, shoes, you know, female stuff. I didn’t move in with any furniture because David had life already made for himself. David basically helped to move all my stuff to the new house and told me that we would officially live together once we were married.

Almost a year after our engagement, I would always swing by our other house where David lived to collect my mail bacause I never updated my address. However, David had no clue I was doing this because I would randomly swing by there while running some errands. Plus, he spent most of his time at the new house with me, so most of the time he was never there whenever I swung by to grab my mail.

Though during this one year into our engagement, David would sometimes tell me that he had a lot of work to do, so he needed to be alone at the other house and focus on catching up. Therefore, he needed me to give him like a week; and I thought nothing much of it because over our two years of dating, I never suspected any foul play. This went on like once every couple of months over the course of our first year into our engagement. Whenever he asked to be alone, I let him be too because I trusted my man.

One afternoon, I stopped by the house while running some errands to check the mail; David wasn’t home. As I pulled the mail out the mailbox and shuffle through it to find mine, one of our neighbour’s wife, Marie came running to me and said “girl we miss you around here.” I smiled. Then she goes, “so your man is living here while you live in the new house by yourself?” I replied, yes girl, but he spends a lot of his time with me there as well. “So when will he sell this house so y’all can live together?” I said to her, according to him, after we are married. She goes “oh okay, okay”.

As the conversation continued, Marie paused for like few minutes just looking at me as I shuffled through the mail as though something was bothering her. I looked up at her and asked, girl what is it? She answered uhhh, “I don’t know, but remember our neighbor down the street?” “Betty, and they got a daughter named Irish who graduated from high school two years ago and we all went there for the graduation party?” I said yes. She took another long pause again and nervously looked around. At this point, I’m thinking something terrible had happened to them; so I hastily asked what girl, what happened? Did someone die? She goes “oh no no no no no; nothing like that, but I’ve been noticing her daughter Irish come over here quite a lot and might even be spending the night!”

I immediately got sick to my stomach and asked her, Marie are you sure of what you’re saying. She responded, yes and added that she was even sitting in her garage one time and the girl came and went in the house as though she had a key, bacause she didn’t notice David opening the door for her. My heart sank deeper into my anus. I asked her for the second time, are you sure Marie? I’ve trusted this man with my life. She goes, “girl I don’t know what could be going on between the both of them, maybe she comes by to clean the house or sit the dog, I don’t know, but you need to follow up on it.” I mumbled, clean? Dog sit? Nah girl, something’s not right ’cause you just said a mouth full. She goes, “yeah something’s definitely fishy”. I told her well girl thanks for telling me. I got in my car and went home.
