This possible 25 years jail time comes as a result of the Prosecutors filing a 31-page document with the Eastern District of New York on Wednesday, ahead of the R&B singer’s sentencing on June 29. The Prosecutor cited Kelly’s “decades of crime” and “callous disregard for the very real effects that his crimes had on his victims”. Kelly was asked to pay a fine of $50,000 to $250,000.
Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean responded and asked the court to sentence her 55-years-old client to 14 years behind bars. After being found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking by a jury of 7 men and 5 women in September of 2021, R. Kelly’s long awaited sentencing verdict will be handed down to him on June 29th.
