Darrell Brooks, 39, who is charged with five counts of intentional homicide in the attack, calls himself Mathboi Fly online — and may even have used the red SUV from the tragic incident in a since-deleted video on his YouTube channel.
Brooks has a criminal history and was recently released on a $1,000 cash bond on Friday in a Nov. 5 case in Milwaukee County for resisting or obstructing an officer, reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct, bail jumping and battery, according to online court records.
In another case dated July last year, Brooks is charged with reckless endangering and illegal possession of a firearm, records show.
The crumpled Ford Escape SUV was found parked in Brooks’ driveway after the shocking caught-on-video vehicular assault.
Brooks has been charged with crimes at least 10 times in all since 1999.That includes a guilty plea to a felony count of inflicting substantial bodily harm to a person when he was just 17, the outlet reported.
Brooks has also posted music videos online — some with violent lyrics saying “They gonna need a cleaner for the s— we did, all my killers Gacey where them bodies hid,” one of his lyrics read, with another saying, “f–k the pigs.”
Five people were killed Sunday and more than 40 injured, including children, when the red SUV blew past police barricades and plowed into a group of people marching in the annual Christmas parade shortly after 4:40 p.m. local time.
